Virtual Paintout…April 2013 (Bulgaria)
Garden Lady, Bulgaria (6″ x 8″)
Oil on Canvas Board
This month’s “Virtual Paintout” takes us to Bulgaria. I found this scene on Google Street View of a woman working in her backyard garden. It’s early spring and things are just beginning to bloom. Travel to “Bulgaria” yourself on Google Maps and see the world from Google Street View. See this month’s Virtual Paintout here… http://virtualpaintout.blogspot.com/
Virtual Paintout…March 2013 (Lithuania)
This month we travel to Vilnius, Lithuania. This window box with flowers atop the tile roof caught my eye. Travel to “Lithuania” yourself on Google Maps and see the world from Google Street View. See this month’s Virtual Paintout here… http://virtualpaintout.blogspot.com/
Virtual Paintout…Feb. 2013 (Chili)
This month we travel to the area around Valparaiso, Chile in South America.. Chile is on the west, Pacific side of South America. This area is very mountainous and Valparaiso seems to be a large port for loading and unloading large cargo ships. I found this blue Victorian house that sits on a steep hill overlooking the busy shipping port below. A very striking landmark. Travel to “Chili” yourself on Google Maps and see the world from Google Street View. See this month’s Virtual Paintout here… http://virtualpaintout.blogspot.com/
Virtual Paintout…Jan. 2013 (Isle of Man)
This month we travel to the “Isle of Man”. It is an Island between Great Britain and Ireland. The red door on this cottage caught my eye, and the old slate roof, both in shadow and sunlight. I tried to pull off the lighting effect. No telling how old this place really is? Travel to “Isle of Man” yourself on Google Maps and see the world from Google Street View. Ennis Bluebonnets
This is a painting that I just completed for my Daughter, Amber. It was done from a photo by a photographer friend, Michelle Johnson. It depicts a scene taken last spring of bluebonnet fields outside Ennis, Texas. You might spot a small black calf in the middle ground near it’s mother. It represents a calf born this fall on a farm Amber and her family visit. I enjoy painting this type of painting and hope they will enjoy it too.
Virtual Paintout…December 2012 (Slovakia)
This month we travel to Slovakia. I came across this little stable with one horse. They made the hay feeder out of an old tree, leaving the branches to hold the hay. The horse looked like the little horses the Mongals ride. I moved things around to get a better composition. Travel to Slovakia yourself on Google Maps and see the world from Google Street View.
